Penguins
Seeing “March of the Penguins” meant I would always want to paint Emperors. Tuxedo-suited for underwater camouflage, they look ready to conquer their frozen world. This almost-abstract painting of these extraordinary birds melds a background of shades of white, grey and black with the penguins themselves, highlighted by colorful beaks that betray attitude. That, and a glint in the eye give each a jaunty, can-do presence that commands respect. They have mine.
